Free 411 Services

On the road and need a number, but don't feel like paying your cell provider's 411 fees? Try Google's FREE 411 service. It's not perfect, and it is a machine, but it can be a handy tool. Just call 1800-GOOG-411 (1-800-466-4411), and follow the prompts.  It's free and unlimited.  If you're into texting, google also has a free SMS (texting) 411 service that you can find out all sorts of information, such as telephone listings, weather, prices on things (to find out if that big TV on sale is really a bargain or not), and lots more.  Here is a link to find out all that you can do with that handy service: http://www.google.com/intl/en_us/mobile/default/sms.html - There are some things with google mobile that require more than just a basic phone, but with the SMS services, any phone that can text will work!

Book Previews

Considering purchasing a book, but not sure if it will be worth the money? Preview it here, at Google Books: http://books.google.com/ - Don't plan on reading the whole book on there, it's just a preview, sorry :) There are even links to buy the book at several places..

Pandora Radio

Choose your favorite song... Then the site will predict a song based on the song that you like that they think you might like. Give it a thumbs up or a thumbs down, and they'll compute that information and find another song that you may like, and so on and so forth, until you have a long playlist of songs that you like. It's part of the music genome project, and it's pretty accurate at picking songs you will like. Give it a try:  http://pandora.com - It's free and has very few advertisements.

If there is a link that you feel should be added here, please email me or let me know in the forums - This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
